Purple Circle is Think Purple’s design event in Nepal — a gathering for designers, students, founders and mentors. It started as a small idea and has run twice in Chitwan, on one belief: designers here shouldn’t have to go to Kathmandu for a room full of people who care about the same things. So we hold it outside the valley, and keep it open to anyone.
Version 3 takes it to Pokhara, and it’s our biggest yet. Two days: a day of talks, then a hike the next morning, the Annapurnas out and everyone still arguing about yesterday’s talks.
Times, speakers and the venue land closer to the date. This is the shape of it, not the schedule.
The conference
Designers showing the real work: the decisions, the dead ends, and the parts that usually get edited out of the case study. Talks run about twenty minutes each, with time to argue afterwards.
The community hike
We walk. A hike out of Pokhara with the Annapurnas in view, where the conversation that started in the hallway gets another few hours to finish. No stage, no slides.
Everyone else
The designers, students and makers in the other seats and on the same trail. Every edition so far, this is what people say they came back for.
Version 3 Theme
Design as Exploration
Maybe it’s human-centred design in the era of AI, and what is still ours to decide. Maybe it’s hiring for design in Nepal: what teams here actually look for, and how anyone gets a first job. Maybe it’s the designer in the codebase, and how thin the line between designing and building has become. Or maybe it’s the design economy of Pokhara: what’s happening here, what’s missing, and what it takes to do this work outside the valley. And if it is none of these, bring it anyway.
We cover accommodation for every accepted speaker.

You help keep Purple Circle outside the valley and open to more people.
Three ways in, same two days, and an early bird batch of the regular pass before they go. Prices and the on-sale date land closer to the event; get updates and you will hear before anyone.
Purple Circle runs on people who decide it should exist. Every edition so far has been paid for by studios, product teams and individuals who wanted a design gathering outside the valley more than they wanted the logo placement, and that is what keeps the ticket cheap enough for people to come.
Supporting an edition pays for the room, the food, and the travel and accommodation of every speaker we accept. If your team hires designers, this is also the two days they are all in one place.
